چکیده
Premature rupture of membrane (PROM) is produced when amniotic membranes tear before labor onset and recorded in around 8 % full-term gestations. Preterm PROMs (PPROMs) take place the 37th week gestation, with an incidence 2–4 pregnancies, it associated higher maternal perinatal morbidity mortality, mainly related to infectious processes prematurity. Among complications, which include postpartum infection, premature placental detachment, sepsis, we highlight clinical chorioamnionitis for its severity. Of decreasing frequency, complications respiratory distress, neonatal intraventricular hemorrhage, necrotizing enterocolitis, neurological lesions. Full-term PROM frequently has a physiological cause consequence uterine contractions; however, PPROM usually multifactorial etiology that often unknown, although most reported observed up 60 cases. Therefore, PPROM, probably infectious, remains unknown The obstetric approach varies as function gestational age, actively inducing pregnancy but performing overall evaluation maternal-fetal status PPROM. In latter situation, assessment made relative risks benefits wait-and-see attitude versus induction, considering signs infection and/or prematurity, ordering antibiotic treatment diagnosed . Multiple combinations antimicrobial drugs have been proposed better outcomes prophylactic administration some new combinations. This study describes case caused by urinary tract infection.

32-week premature rupture of membranes caused by oropharyngeal microbiota
Introduction. Preterm premature rupture of membranes (PPROM) usually has a multifactorial etiology that is often unknown, although the most frequently reported cause is infection by group B Streptococcus. Therefore, the etiology of PPROM, although probably infectious, remains unknown in most cases. This case describes a PPROM caused by infection from oropharyngeal microbiota. Case presentation....

Background & Aims: Preterm premature rupture of membranes (PPROM) is the leading cause of preterm birth and perinatal mortality and morbidity, and complications. The objective of the present study was to assess the effect of progesterone agents (rectal suppositories and weekly injection of 17- hydroxyprogesterone caproate) on latency period in women with PPROM. Methods: This randomized, double-...
